i have been working on a lot of new designs in the past couple weeks
but haven’t been able to make samples because i hadn’t received my new fabrics.
they finally arrived and i’ve been busy trying out new ideas.
its pretty time consuming drafting patterns, testing prints and seeing what works and what doesn’t.
the fabrics are a mix of  neutral organic cotton’s and hemps. including
two lovely fleeces that will be great for upcoming changing pads and burp cloths that are in the works.

here are some photos from last nights fun times at the cheaper show.
this is an art show in vancouver that includes 200 international artists presenting
400 pieces and each is only $200.
after the show we strolled down the street to have drinks and snacks at
guilty and co. the only place i know where you can get a beer
with a side of pickles, crackers and mustard.

my sister had a little baby girl named ellie.
we are all pretty thrilled.

my friend shoko (from sumiya clothing co and sumiya tattoo) and i
decided to collaborate and design a bib together and this is how it turned out!
she picked up some lovely cotton fabric from japan, shown on the left,
and the one on the right is black linen, lined with a water-proof nylon.

this is my dad and my niece a couple years ago. they are best buddies.

we had a little birthday party in the park for my nieces third birthday yesterday.
i love this kid and she was extra rad yesterday with her party dress, hat and natural
ability to entertain while accommodating guests. next kids due this week!

rain and rain and rain.
i just got home from bussing and walking in the rain
with no umbrella, just a piece of fabric around my head.
we tend to lose every umbrella purchased
or borrowed around these parts.
(sorry mum i think we borrowed yours last)
so i was inspired to post some clouds.
its the first thing i draw when i sit down with pen in hand.
probably because living in this city is like living in a rain cloud.

so its been a while since i posted anything.
i’ve spent the last week in bed nursing a wicked
bad cold that seems to just want to hang out with me forever.
so i’m taking off in a couple days, like i to do sometimes,
to a lovely little cabin on an island close by
where theres no fancy technology just a lot of sheep.
there i will catch up on my work and hope that
the fresh air will heal everything.
sew,trace and cut,sleep,eat,read,drink tea,repeat.
